What is the difference between a closure wig and a frontal wig?

A frontal wig has lace extending across most or all of the front hairline. Frontals generally allow for more parting and styling versatility but require more maintenance than closure wigs.

Can every wig be worn with a side part?

Are your wigs glueless?

Many Pretty Pieces are designed for glueless wear, but the fit and security will depend on the wig’s construction, your head measurements, and your preferred method of wear.

What is the difference between vendor-made and custom-made wig sizing?

Vendor-made wigs are manufactured using standard cap construction and may accommodate a range of head sizes. Many include adjustable straps, combs, or other features that allow the fit to be tightened.

Custom-made wigs are constructed for a more specific cap size based on the size selected or measurements provided. They may not offer the same broad adjustment range as a vendor-made wig.

Can an adjustable wig fit every head size?

No. Adjustable features can help tighten or secure a wig, but they do not make one wig universally sized.

What should I do if I am between sizes?

What does “customized” mean?

Will the lace already be cut?

Not necessarily. The product description will state whether the lace is cut or uncut.

Uncut lace allows the customer or stylist to trim it according to the wearer’s natural hairline and preferred fit. Because lace cutting cannot be reversed, we recommend having it completed by someone experienced when you are unsure.

What are bleached knots?

The hair on a lace closure or frontal is secured to the lace with small knots. Lightening those knots can make the lace appear more scalp-like.

Knot bleaching does not make every knot completely invisible, and results may vary based on the lace, hair color, knot size, and level of processing.

Can I bleach the knots again after receiving my wig?

Additional bleaching should be done cautiously and preferably by an experienced wig professional. Overprocessing the knots can weaken the hair at the lace and contribute to shedding, thinning, or bald areas.

We do not recommend repeatedly bleaching already-customized lace.

Can I add an elastic band to my wig?

Some wigs already include an elastic band. For eligible wigs, an elastic-band upgrade may be available separately.

Are your custom wigs sewn by machine?

What is virgin human hair?

Virgin human hair is human hair that has not been mixed with synthetic fibers. Some virgin hair may be steam-processed to create textures such as body wave, deep wave, or curly patterns.

Quality, fullness, colorability, and longevity may differ between vendors and hair collections.

What is raw hair?

Raw hair is human hair that has not been chemically or steam-processed to create a uniform texture. Because it is minimally processed, its natural texture and characteristics may vary from bundle to bundle.

Raw hair is often selected for customers seeking greater longevity and versatility, but it still requires proper maintenance.

How long will my wig last?

There is no single guaranteed lifespan for a human-hair wig. Longevity depends on:

• the hair and lace quality
• how often the wig is worn
• how it is washed and styled
• the amount of heat and chemical processing used
• how the wig is stored
• how gently the lace is handled

With proper care, a quality wig can be worn repeatedly and maintained for an extended period. The lace area will usually require more delicate handling than the hair itself.

Can I curl or straighten my wig?

Most human-hair wigs can be curled, straightened, and restyled. Always apply heat protectant and use the lowest effective temperature.

Excessive heat can dry out the hair, loosen curl patterns, fade custom color, and shorten the wig’s lifespan.

Can I color my wig after purchasing it?

Some human-hair wigs can be colored, but results depend on the starting color, previous processing, hair quality, and desired shade.

Coloring is never risk-free. Chemical services can alter the texture, condition, curl pattern, or longevity of the hair. We recommend professional coloring and strand testing before applying color to the entire wig.

Will a custom-colored wig look exactly the same as the photos?

The wig you receive will be the wig pictured when purchasing a one-of-one Ready-to-Ship unit. However, color can appear different depending on indoor lighting, outdoor lighting, your screen settings, and surrounding colors.

For made-to-order or recreated color services, inspiration photos are used as a guide. Hand-colored wigs will naturally have some variation and cannot be duplicated strand for strand.

How is wig length measured?

Straight hair is generally measured in its natural straight state. Wavy and curly textures are measured while stretched.
